My mom is home now and doing so much better! She still requires constant care, but we are so very happy that she can be home with us. She has a long road ahead of her, but she has also come so very far!
My son is getting married in July, so I have been busy crocheting for the wedding. My twin nieces are going to be the flower girls, so I am working on two Flower Girl Baskets in their colors. My grandson is going to be the ring bearer, so I am also crocheting a Ring Bearer Pillow. I hope to have some pictures soon!
Unfortunately, not much has been new around Cute and Country Crochet lately. The reason for this is that at the end of August last year, my mom was hit bt a car while walking near my home during her annual visit with me. I have been taking care of her daily since the accident, so I have not had much time to create new designs! I am happy to report that she is steadily improving, day by day, so hopefully, I will now have more time to devote to crochet. I am itching to get back to designing! I hope to be adding some new updates soon. Stay tuned!
OMG! I can hardly believe I have been blogging for one full year! Where in the world did the time go? One year??? Wow…..I am thrilled I have been keeping this up, also!
Here are the long promised knitted scarf pictures. I knit four different ones during the holidays. I actually knit more than four scarves, but duplicated a couple of the patterns. I think I designed all of these scarf patterns. They were pretty basic patterns, but quick and fun to do!
Since I’ve been very busy working lately, I haven’t been on the computer much. When I checked to see if my favorite blogs had been updated, I noticed I had been TAGGED by Tara!

And, I still have to post those scarf pictures!
It’s snowing like crazy out!
What a perfect day to snuggle up and do nothing but knit and crochet!
I have chosen to start on another Seraphina Shawl, this time for my daughter Angela.
As I started it, I was reminded about some of my ‘problems’ last time!
I am again using the same Rainbow Boucle from Joann’s, but this time in a different colorway. It is a beautiful color, and I am anxious to see the color pattern start to immerge. BUT, I had forgotton how difficult it is to see the stitches with this yarn! As I stated in a previous post, I would like to see this pattern worked up in a simpler yarn, one that is not a fuzzy boucle.
Fortunately, I am alone and it is quiet today, as the pattern for Seraphina Shawl can be difficult to get started with. The pattern creates itself in the first 10 or 11 pattern rows and then starts to unfold beautifully, but up until that time, it can be a bit perplexing at times. You will find it easier to follow, I believe, if you look at the wonderful pictures that go with the pattern.
More on that later….
Well, Gina did not have the baby on New Year’s Day! We are still waiting patiently. Well, Gina is waiting a bit impatiently! The baby is another boy, and we are so excited! I will keep you posted. The nurses at the hospital thought it would be last night or today, since we are in the middle of a snowstorm! Who knows, maybe tonight?
Well, back to Seraphina…..
These Frappr Maps seem like they can be so much fun! So I have created one for Cute and Country Crochet. Click on the link below:
to view my map.
Click on my Red Tag to read my Shoutout. Then you can add yourself and subscribe to my map, so you can get your own Red Tag on the map. I think it will be fun to see all the different places where people live. The tag will also be posted in the sidebar.
I am still working on a Snowman project for my website. I decided to change from shiny white worsted weight yarn to regular white worsted, so I had to start all over again. I have quite a bit done on it, but I did not get a chance to crochet again today! Funny how life gets in the way sometimes! I promised myself I would make time tomorrow, though, for crochet.
Of course, that also means I have not been able to start on Angela’s Seraphina Shawl either. At least I know that when I do get started on that, it will go pretty fast!
I finally figured out how to get my profile to show again, and where I can edit the html in the pages of my new blog. It is about time! Even though I would like to play around adding things to this new blog, I really can’t take the time to do it now! I must continue my crocheting and finish the new designs that I started, so I can update my website like I previously hoped to do. I want to update fairly soon!
I hope to be able to write in this blog soon that I have added to my website!
